Obituary

Santa Clara, Utah - Lila Lee Dean Muhlestein, 94, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2018. She was born to Marcus Cleveland "Cleve" Dean and Annie Florine Wilson Dean in Pittsburg, Kansas on November 30, 1923 and was the youngest of six children.  Lila Lee married Bruce Muhlestein on December 6, 1945 in Pittsburg, Kansas and soon after settled in Provo, Utah. They were later sealed in the Manti LDS Temple. The couple eventually settled in Santa Clara, Utah and had three sons: David, Alan and Gary.
Lila Lee was unable to complete high school due to World War II but was proud of earning a high school diploma and attending college in the 1980's. She was an active member of the LDS church, serving in numerous callings including Relief Society President and a mission in the Washington D.C. Temple.
Lila Lee was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband. She is survived by her sons: David (Joyce) Muhlestein, Alan (Rosanne) Muhlestein and Gary Muhlestein; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be Saturday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
