St. George, UT – Linda Kay Gallagher, age 72, graduated February 14, 2020 at 2:14 a.m. in Saint George, Utah. She was born on October 24, 1947 to Clifford Laverne Burgess and Virginia Lorine Belt in Aurora, Kane County, Illinois.
On April 10, 1968, she married Clifton Wray Gallagher in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, while both of them were serving in the United States Navy and stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.
Linda was raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois in a small town called Downers Grove. After graduating High School, she joined the United States Navy in 1967. After her marriage, she relocated to Sacramento, California where she spent 20 years in and around that area.
Linda became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1980 and has been devoted to living her life, emulating her Savior Jesus Christ. Her footprint of love, compassion and service covered more than those of us reading this obituary. The ripple effects of her heartfelt life will be felt for generations here and in the eternities.
She graduated with honors from this life where she and her husband chose to settle down in a small town called Saint George, Utah.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Clifton Wray Gallagher; her three children: Cheryl Sue Apple, Clifton Wray Gallagher, II and Timothy Scott Gallagher; their grandchildren: Amber Toner, Erin Apple, Ashley Apple, Michael Gallagher, Christopher Apple, Emily Pinkham, Kiersten Gallagher, Alec Hendren, Chelsie Gallagher, Ethan Gallagher, Logan Hargrave, Darris Gallagher, Lily Apple, Benjamin Hendren, Hannah Gallagher, Caleb Apple, Alexea Hendren, Fisher Gallagher, Izabella Apple and Boston Apple; and her great-grandchildren: Leander Toner, Ansel Pinkham, Legend Apple, Collin Apple, Santiago Hargrave, Kaladin Pinkham, Kingsley Hargrave, Brooklyn Apple, Neva Hargrave, Kaydence Gallagher, Archer Wayman, and Rivelynn Pinkham. She is also survived by her biological sisters: Patricia Horn and Linda Kelly.
A Celebration of Life and Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel located at 1485 North 800 West, Orem, Utah. Interment with military honors will be held exactly at 1:00 p.m. following the service at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah 84065. So please arrive early, if at all possible.
