Hurricane, Utah - Our kind and loving mother and grandmother Lorraine Heaton Condie age 95 passed away on Saturday February 26, 2011. She was born October 2, 1915 to Joseph William and Amelia Carroll Heaton in Alton, Utah. At age 5, her family moved from Alton to Hurricane in a covered wagon. Here she would remain for most of her life. She married Floyd Lewis in 1943 and they had two children: Margo Ann and Monte. They later divorced. In 1961, she married Edmund Grant Condie and his three children, Lawana, Roger and DeNise, completed her family of five. Lorraine was an excellent school teacher for 30 years. Her greatest joy came from her posterity. She was always creating beautiful things with her hands for her family like quilts, crochet, and knitting. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings and positions, including many years in family history. She is survived by her sons: Monte Lewis and Roger Condie; daughters: DeNise Pettit and Lawana Lamola; sister, Verna Southers; brother, Weldon Heaton; 24 grandchildren; and 58 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmund Grant Condie; brothers: Linden and Carroll Heaton; sisters: Bessie, Amy, Lorene and Lucille Heaton, Genevieve Gubler; a grandson, Brett Condie; and daughter, Margo Ann Stratton. She was greatly loved and will be missed. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS 5th Ward Chapel, 274 South 100 West, Hurricane, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday, March 4th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary located at 140 North Main Street and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel, prior to services.
