St. George, Utah - Lorraine Laub Gubler passed away January 10, 2011. He was born July 19, 1935 in Ivins, Utah to Martin Jacob and Jennie Lewema Laub Gubler. Lorraine graduated form Dixie High School and attended Ventura College in Ventura, California. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Air Force in 1975. After retiring, he moved back to St. George and married Corean Isom November 26, 1977. Lorraine retired from St. George Parks where he worked as a Park Maintenance Foreman. He enjoyed bowling with his team mates, camping, fishing and pine nut picking with his family. Lorraine is survived by his wife, Corean; brother, Glen Gubler; sister, Jean Cox; children: Dudley M. Gubler, Kim Corell, Trudy Kohels and Kevin and Marilyn Barrick; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Toby Barrick; four brothers: Grant, Cal, Ted and Floyd; and two sisters, Wendy and Lapril. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed and loved by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Mortuary, prior to services. Interment will be at the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
