St. George, Utah - Louis "Lou" Derickson, 90, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021. He was born May 23, 1931, in Murphysboro, Illinois. He was employed with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for 32 years. During this time, he worked Patrol, Detective Bureau and Community Relations Officer for Lennox Station.
Lou was a man of honesty and integrity and a very private person. He was embarrassed by praise and always wanted to pass the credit and recognition on to someone else.
Lou served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War, was a devout Catholic, a 4 th degree Knights of Columbus and 64-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.
Lou is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Nancy; his nieces: Rona, Karen, Kathy and Kristi; nephews: Ronald, David and John; brother-in-law, John Reddy; and sister-in-law, Mary Blanchard.
Goodbye my dear Lou, I miss you so and love you for always.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., with a Rosary prior at 10:00 a.m., at the St. George Catholic Church, 259 West 200 North.
