St. George, Utah
– Lucile M. Crockett, (Moonie/The Queen Bee), a bright light came to earth October 15, 1918. Lucile passed, peacefully, August 31, 2017. She was born in Cedar City, Utah to Maggie Mae and Kenneth Macfarlane.
Lucile grew up in a pioneer adobe home surrounded by music, love, three sisters and a brother. She attended USU on a music scholarship, where she met her handsome Marine, Vern. They married in 1942 in the St. George LDS Temple and spent 75 years together.
As the wife of a Marine officer, Lucile traveled the world: Panama, Hawaii, Saipan, Italy, and the East and West Coasts of the United States. She was unique in many ways, loved trees, rocks, the beauty of nature, simple joys, and especially her husband and three children: David (Doris), Thomas (Sandra), and Cathleen (Lane).
Lucile played violin in the St. George Orchestra, was an active member of Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, and shared her poetry, singing, dancing and writing talents with many. She was a truly charitable and spiritual person who gave to others in every way possible and believed that all people should be treated with equal love and respect. She made the world a better place and will be loved forever.
Lucile is survived by her husband, children, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
