Obituary

Lucinda "Cindy" Angel Williams peacefully passed away on July 4, 2026 in Hurricane, Utah surrounded by the love of her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cindy was born on July 11, 1948, in Culver City, California, to her mother, Yvonne Eunice Starr, and her father, Felipe Jesse Angel. She grew up in Culver City and graduated from Culver City High School in 1966.

On August 31, 1968, Cindy married James "Jim" Lamen Williams. Together they shared nearly 58 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and love. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim, her two sons, John Williams (Jodi) and Craig Williams (Megan), and her six cherished grandchildren: Jacob, Kyle, Evan, Nathan Kai, Karli, and Micah Williams. She is also survived by her brothers; Tom Angel and Ernie Sanford; her brother-in-law, Bruce Schultz; her nieces, Ashley Cruz and Lisa Gause, and nephews, Cory Schultz and Eric Angel, and their families; along with a large circle of extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her sister Julie Angel Schultz.

Cindy was a woman of extraordinary warmth, compassion, and generosity. Her selfless spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She found joy in life's simple pleasures. Cindy loved adventures; traveling our nation and the world, gardening, playing games, and doing crafts. Above all, she treasured time spent creating memories with her beloved family and friends.

In 1972, Jim's service in the United States Air Force brought their family to Tacoma, Washington. There they raised their two boys and Cindy began a career with the Tacoma Public School District, where she worked for 28 years. She formed many lasting friendships with coworkers and took great pride in supporting students, families, and her community.

She spent a lifetime involved in church activities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in which she loved singing in choirs and playing musical instruments. After having learned to play the accordion and guitar in her youth, she later in life learned to play the piano. She served faithfully in many different church callings. She served as a co-director in the Tacoma Family History Center for three years, then served as a service missionary in the Tacoma Employment Center, and in her last two years as a temple worker at the Red Cliffs Utah Temple.

In 2017, Cindy and Jim moved to Hurricane, Utah. There they reunited with cherished friends from Tacoma, while also building many new friendships in the community that became her final home. She recently became involved in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Nothing brought Cindy greater joy than having her family together to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and special occasions and she tried to make each occasion a special memory. She had a gift for making every gathering feel meaningful and for every person to feel loved. Whether she was known as Cindy, Mom, Grandma Cindy, Aunt Cindy, sister, daughter, friend, or neighbor, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, service, and unconditional love that will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

In her own words, "Nothing brings more happiness to me than family." Those words perfectly reflected the way she lived her life. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the love she gave so freely and the countless memories she leaves behind. She will be missed beyond measure and we will always love her to the moon and back.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 320 North 3400 West, Hurricane, Utah.
