Leeds, Utah – Lucy Anna Hatch, 90, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2022, at home with her devoted, loving husband by her side.
Lucy was born on October 11, 1931, in Moroni, Utah. She was the only daughter of Swen E. Nielsen and Henrietta Blackham Nielsen. She resided in Moroni, Salt Lake City, Pinebrook-Park City and Leeds. She graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City. She was a loyal, career-long employee of Bennett Leasing Company where she made life-long friends.
Lucy married Brent S. Hatch on August 3, 1981. Together they built two homes in Pinebrook-Park City. They built their third home in Leeds after they retired in 1993.
Lucy and Brent loved traveling across the entire country in their RV, including a summer-long drive to Alaska. They also served as Campground Hosts at Navajo Lake. Always adventuring, boating, and camping together - they were each other's best friends. Brent and Lucy were the Back Roads Society Team!
Lucy is survived by her husband, Brent; son, Randy (Marla) Klein; and daughter, Jodi (Scott) Wood. She doted on her nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, never missing a birthday. Lucy was also a close, supportive stepmother to Brent's daughter, Rachel Hatch (Gene) Redford, and son, Mitchel B. Hatch, four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Kay (Sondra) Nielsen, considered not only a brother, but also a best friend. She is preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Bryce Nielsen; and daughter, Heidi Johnsen.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Leeds LDS Chapel, 75 North Main Street, Leeds, Utah. Friends may visit Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow services at the Panguitch City Cemetery, Panguitch, Utah.
