Enterprise, UT - Luezon Peterson Truman, 86, passed away July 12, 2012 in St. George, Utah. She was born May 11, 1926 in Lyman, Utah to Thorvald and Sarah Ellen Jackson Peterson. She married Burney M. Cook. They were later divorced. She married Alvin Leavitt ("Tique") Truman on February 17, 1956 in Panaca, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized on June 2, 1971 in the St. George LDS Temple. Luezon was blessed with the talent of cooking and baking. She enjoyed sharing that talent with her family and friends. Anyone who came to her home enjoyed her wonderful meals, pies, and cakes. In the late 1970s, Luezon opened the Big Valley Caf in Enterprise, Utah. She operated the Caf until she retired due to health problems. She also enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, pine nut picking, and spending time with her family and friends. Luezon's greatest love was for her family. When she and Tique married, they blended their families and she loved each child. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who made each member of her blended family feel loved and special. She is survived by children: Cheryl (Robert) Hunt of Mesquite, NV, Dana (Karol) Truman of Enterprise, UT, Carol Force of Hurricane, UT, Nonya Ree Miller of Ogden, UT, and daughter-in-law: Sharon Truman of Enterprise, UT; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Wahnetta Simons and Madonna Hunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin and children: Ronald Truce Truman and Valrie Fritz Truman; grandson: Logan LeGrand Hunt; her parents; brothers: Harold, Clarence, Lawrence, Ervin, Edgar, Elmer, and Edmond Peterson; sisters: Katie, Leah, and Emma Peterson, Irene Poulson, and Susan Martinez. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m at the Enterprise LDS Stake Center, 80 South Center Street, Enterprise, Utah A visitation will be held Friday, prior to services, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be at the Enterprise City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
