St. George, UT - Lula B. Landon passed away peacefully with her family and close friend, Doretta Miller, by her side July 14, 2009. She just celebrated her 90th birthday on March 22nd. She was born in 1919 in Moore, Idaho to Jess and Carma Bingham. She is survived by her two daughters: Karen (Jerry) Gonzales and Marilyn (Dwight) Maygren; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She married Acel Landon on November 23, 1939 in Long Beach, California. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple September 9, 1969. He preceded her in death July 12, 1996. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all. She loved to play the piano, play cards, shopping and going out to eat. She cherished time spent with family and friends. She was a member of the Mall Drive Branch of the Church of Latter-day Saints. Donations can be made in memory of Lula to Alliance Hospice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary, prior to services. Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery.
