Obituary

Lulu B. Cheney, beloved mother, grandmother, great and great- great grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, at the age of 95.

Lulu was born on February 3, 1930 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.  She married her sweetheart Tom Cheney, on April 4th, 1950, in the St. George, Utah Temple.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Tom Cheney, and her daughter Terry Ann Clifford.  Lulu leaves behind a loving legacy, survived by her daughters, grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren, who will cherish her memory.

Lulu's life was defined by a deep passion for music, and she dedicated over 60 years to teaching and inspiring countless children through her gift of music. Her influence reached far beyond the classroom, touching the lives of generations of students who were fortunate to have learned from her.

Together with her husband Tom, Lulu served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Australia, a testament to their strong faith and love for service.  After their mission, they settled in St. George, Utah, where Lulu continued to be an active and cherished member of her church and community.

Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith will be missed by all who knew her.

There will be a viewing held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.

A family graveside service honoring Lulu is on August 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. Goege, Utah.
