Mack Wyatt Sanders, age 86, passed away July 31, 2015 at his home. He was born September 13, 1928 in Hurricane, Utah to Grant and Ines Wright Sanders. He was married to Barbara Clare Parker for 59 years. After she passed away, he married Suzanne Taylor Leavitt in 2009. Mack served in the Hurricane Lions Club for 62 years, three of those years as President; in the Hurricane Volunteer Fire Department for 19 years, six years as fire chief and on the Washington County Fair Board for 25 years. Mack organized the West Zion Little League and managed it for many years. He worked as a volunteer with recovering alcoholics in the Utah State Alcoholism Foundation. He was a member of the Hurricane Roping Club for many years. Mack was also a member of the Sons of Utah Pioneer for many years. He served as a counselor in the Hurricane 2nd Ward Bishopric and as Bishop of the Hurricane 5th Ward. He served on the High Councils in the Las Vegas South Stake and the Zion Park-Hurricane West Stake. Mack and Barbara served full time missions in the New Jersey, Cherry Hill Mission and the Texas, Houston Mission as office missionaries. He cherished the many years he spent with the young men of the LDS church; backpacking all over Utah and Arizona. Mack was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Barbara; and great-granddaughter, Kyla Anne Sanders. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; daughters: Terrie (Karl) Spendlove and Lori (Rick) Perry; sons: Jeff (Annie) Sanders and Scott (Julie) Sanders; sixteen grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane LDS 8th Ward Chapel, 155 East 1050 North, Hurricane, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary, 140 North Main Street and on Saturday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will be in the Hurricane City Cemetery.
