Washington, UT - Margaret Ann Holloway Afner, 79, passed peacefully on Friday, January 29th, at her home in Washington, Utah, surrounded by loving family and her dear husband, Kermit Afner. She was born on May 18th, 1930, in Harrisonville, Mo., to Thelma Walton and William Allen Holloway. She spent her early years in Jefferson City and Kansas City, Mo. She attended Southwest High School in Kansas City. During her senior year she attended Trumans presidential inauguration in 1949. Margaret went with her father and they rode on the train with the Missouri Truman family. They attended all of the celebrations and sat with the Truman family at the inauguration. Margaret attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Mo. She lived for many years in St. Louis, where she was a school teacher and then worked in marketing and retired at Mosby Publishing. She was a Deacon and sang in the choir at the Presbyterian church in St. George; she was also active in P.E.O. She loved playing bridge, her water aerobics group and the social events at the Bloomington Country Club. Margaret is survived by her daughters Dawn Feichtmann and Leeanne Schulze, and her grandchildren Anthony, Bobbi Ann and Morgan (Marinello), Laura Schulze and Molly Gordon, two sisters, June Jacobs and Pat Sater, and brother-in-law Doug Sater, as well as stepchildren Lynne Afner, Karen Gordon (and husband Joel) and Tony(and wife Peggy) Afner. Margaret has many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by brothers, Little Sid and William Allen Holloway III and sister in law Carol Holloway.. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 6th at 1:00 pm at theGood Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 611 N. 2450 East,St. George, Utah.
