Hurricane, Utah - Maria Johanna Cornelia Welman Ransdell, age 77, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Dixie Regional Medical Center. She was born November 20, 1936 in Amsterdam, Holland to Marinus Cornelius and Maria Gimburgh Welman. She married Eli Pacheco in 1956 at Santa Monica, California. They were later divorced. In 1973, she married Raymond W. Ransdell in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Maria resided in Southern California for 25 years and later lived in West Valley City, Utah for 14 years before moving to Hurricane in 1997. Maria was a loving follower of Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sylvia A. Welman of Lake Forest, CA. and Suzzane Martel Pacheco of Colton, CA.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers: Franciscus Welman (Olga) of Oceanside, CA., Marinus Welman (Diane) of Orange, CA., and Cornelius Welman (Betty) of Huntington Beach, CA; and sisters: Anneke Ventola of Columbus, OH, Neeltje Singh of Hurricane, UT, and Ellie Spanhoff (Renzo) of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by a dear family friend and loving caretaker, Daniel K. Anderson of Hurricane. Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and son, Freddy Pacheco.
