St. George, UT - Marie "Toni" Syta Gullo passed away peacefully on October 5, 2013, at her home in St. George, Utah, surrounded by her loving husband and family. Marie was born on February 2, 1933 in Buffalo, New York to Stephen Syta and Mary Stajduhar. Marie is known to most of her family and friends as Toni. She lived in Hallandale, Florida, before retiring to St. George after a long career as a restaurant owner.

Marie and her husband built a successful chain of fast food restaurants in Buffalo, New York, and later owned restaurants on and near the beach in Hollywood, Florida, finally retiring to St. George where they continued as restaurateurs. She was an avid collector of antique dolls, estate jewelry, fine crystal and many unique and unusual items. She loved chocolate, beating the slots, flea markets, and her devoted kitty cat; but most of all, Toni loved her husband, her children and her family. She will be eternally loved and missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband James, her children: James, Mark, Russell, Joseph and Donald, as well as her sister Roseanne, her sister-in-law Viola, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws. She is preceded in death by her son Dennis, her brothers: Stanley, Joseph and John , and her sister Florence.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff of Southern Utah Home Care & Hospice and to Dr. Robert Rignell, who has been our family physician for many years.
