IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marilyn Jean
Adams Southam
February 27, 1937 – August 17, 2025
St George UT - Marilyn Jean Adams Southam, aged 88, passed away peacefully at her home in St. George, UT on August 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Orem, UT on February 27, 1937, to John Kenneth and Afton Peterson Adams. Marilyn married Glade Southam, the love of her life, on December 23, 1961. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Cedar City Utah Temple on March 17, 2023.
Marilyn was a true entrepreneur, working alongside Glade to manage several businesses: Exquisite Home Builders, Southam Excavating, Southam Enterprises, Living Color Printing, and The Draper Paper. She also served as the couple's broker for their real estate company, Image Realty.
Marilyn's passions extended to her beloved Morgan horse farm, Pebble Farm Morgans. She was an accomplished horsewoman, earning top awards in English pleasure competitions. Driven and determined, Marilyn pursued her dream of owning a turkey farm in Draper, Utah. This 13-acre property became Pebble Farm Morgans, known for its horse shows and legendary Easter parties.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Debra (Southam) Buchanan, Brian Southam, and Brenda Southam, all of St. George, UT. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Parker Buchanan (Salt Lake City, UT), Natalia Southam (Salt Lake City, UT), and Zacharay Southam (West Valley City, UT); one great-grandchild, Noah Buchanan (Salt Lake City, UT); and one sibling, Joan Townsend (St. George, UT). She was preceded in death by her husband, Glade Southam; her son, Dustin Southam; and her brothers: Kenneth Adams, William Adams, and James Adams.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff, hospitalists, and emergency department physicians at St. George Regional Hospital, as well as Intermountain Homecare and Hospice. Special thanks to Madi, LPN at St. George Regional Hospital, for the compassion and care shown to Marilyn; your kindness made her feel safe.
