Cedar City, Utah - Marjorie Bauer Blackburn passed away November 20, 2011. She was born September 20, 1930 in Cedar City, Utah to John Carlos and Aurelia Worthen Bauer. She married Charles H. Blackburn July 22, 1948 in Cedar City, Utah.
Marjorie grew-up and spent most of her life in Cedar City. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her callings included Primary Worker, Relief Society President, Ward Magazine Representative, Assistant Matron in the St. George Temple from September 1995 through 1998 and a Temple Construction Missionary in Fukuoka, Japan from April 1999 through June 2000.
She enjoyed yard work, reading and drafting house plans. She was a talented seamstress, cake decorator and candy maker. She also served as an election registrar and judge of election for many years. She was the best mother in the world and was always at home for her children. She was a great example of modesty, integrity and believed in doing any job with perfection. She exemplified Christ- like service in all she did.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Charles H.; children: Carla (Monty) Stratton of Cedar City, Leslie (Ross) Dalton of Yuma, AZ, Margene (Carl) LeFevre of Cedar City, Julie (Glen) Bishop of St. George, JoAnn (Mike) Topham of St. Louis, Mo and Brenda Lee Blackburn of Cedar City; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Norma, Colleen, Gordon, Opal, Bobette and Duane. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond Bauer.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cedar LDS 4 th Ward Chapel, 500 West 400 North, Cedar City, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, prior to services, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cedar City Cemetery.
