ST. GEORGE, UTAH
- Marjorie King Griffin Ence, age 78, passed away on March 24, 2011 at her home in St. George, Utah.
She was born July 16, 1932 in Boulder, Utah to Clyde and Irene King.
She married Eugene Napoleon Griffin on June 10, 1953, they were later divorced.
She later married Floyd Ence March 6, 1984.
She graduated from the University of Utah in 1954 with a BS degree in Nursing.
She later returned to school to complete a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Throughout her life she worked in the medical profession, including many different hospitals, she was a Public Health Nurse in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Director of Nursing at the Arizona State Mental Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, a Garfield County Public Nurse, and also the Nursing Director for the Southwest District Health Department in St. George, Utah.
In 1993 she opened her own medical clinic, the Color Country Health Express, which she operated for 13 years.
She retired at the age of 72.
During her years as a Family Practitioner she was dedicated to her clinic and patients. She was known for her devoted work ethic, deep compassion, and limitless generosity.
She touched the hearts of all that had contact with her.
She had a passion for reading, was a life-long learner, and loved spending time with her family. She was an active member of the LDS Church.
Marge is survived by children: Camille (Doug) Hall, Boulder, Utah; Karen (Rick) Palmer, St. George, Utah; Gaden (Jayley) Griffin, Ivins, Utah;
8 grandchildren: Katie Ballard, Cole (Trisha) Palmer, Andy (Kasia) Palmer, Riley Palmer, Aaron Palmer, Gentry (Jessica) Griffin, Jayden Griffin, Aubrey Griffin; and 2 great-grandchildren: Kelton & Lia.
Step-children include Elaine Winget, Clark (Kathy) Ence, Rodney (Tammy) Ence, Marilyn (Wade) Roberts, and Kelly (Becky) Ence, along with 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Marge is also survived by her sisters: Gerry Hitt, Ann (Tom) Reynolds, and Linda King. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter Carmen, and sister LaRae King. Her husband Floyd passed away the day following her death.
