Ivins, Utah - Marlene Clark Eames, our beloved wife, mother , grandmother, sister and friend passed away into the arms of her Heavenly Father on May 30, 2012 after a brave 19 month battle with cancer. She was born May 9, 1937 in Hyde Park, Utah to Jonathan Shirley Clark and Florence Rasmussen Clark. She grew up in San Francisco riding horses and playing sports. It was there that she gained her poetic love of the ocean. She loved playing the piano and the violin, singing, writing and dancing. She was married to Glenn Eames in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 16, 1956. Together they raised seven wonderful children.

Being with her family was the highlight of her life. She loved listening to them and teaching them about life. She was always there for her children and grandchildren, ready and willing to do whatever she could to help them and cry with them in their struggles. She was a wonderful teacher and loved learning. Whether it was teaching the piano, English or crocheting, she worked tenaciously at helping them learn all the while allowing them to feel her great love for them. She had a bright mind and a tremendous sense of humor and was always excited about new ideas. She had a passion for justice and equality in the world and felt very strongly that all people should be treated fairly and with compassion. She always looked for those who needed her the most and made it her mission to help them.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and her favorite calling was teaching the beautiful young primary children who came to love her inspiring stories of prayer. She had a very strong testimony of Gods love for each of us, life after death and the power of prayer. She had many powerful answers to prayer throughout her life which helped guide her and will always be an inspiration to her children and grandchildren. Her most important aspiration was to "walk with God". Although she will be missed greatly by her family and all of those who loved her, we are grateful that she now will be able to walk with God.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Glenn E. Eames; her children: Julie (James) Lee of Ogden, Utah, Rulon (Susan) Eames of Ogden, Utah, Wade Eames of Seattle, Washington, Catherine (Alan) Haws of Ogden, Utah, Therese (Kelly) Olsen of Washington, Utah and Angela (Tim) Waddoups of Ivins, Utah; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Glenn Russell Eames.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund in honor of Marlene.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ivins LDS 9 ^th Ward Heritage Building, 240 East 1060 South, Ivins, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday, prior to services, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Heritage Building. Interment will follow services at the Ivins City Cemetery.
