St. George, Utah - Marvin Graham McEntire, Sr., 71, returned to the arms of his Heavenly Father, September 11, 2012 in St. George, Utah. He suffered many years from Sarcoidosis and Asbestos poisoning, and most recently Parkinsons disease. He is now able to breathe.

Marvin was born April 26, 1941 to Marie Graham and William James McEntire in Ogden, Utah. He grew-up in Layton, Utah and St. Ignatius, Montana, where he attended Mission High School and worked on the family ranch. He joined the Navy when he was only 19 years old where he was a Sonar Tech Third Class from 1960-1966. He married his sweetheart Wanda Mecham on December 27, 1963 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Marvin had a great love for hiking, target shooting, building and flying model airplanes and inventing electronic devises, but his family was his true love.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed many callings.

Marvin earned a BA in English from Weber State College while working as an Electronic Tech at Hill Air Force Base and at Thiokol where he worked in the shuttle test area. Upon moving to St. George, he worked at Workforce Services as a VA Representative.

We are forever grateful to have had such a wonderful husband, daddy and grandpa in our lives for so long. He was truly a wonderful man who will be greatly missed, but we are so happy that he is now out of pain and free from his trials here on earth.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; and children: Marvin McEntire, Jr.(Rhonda) of Longview, WA, Vera Wilson (Mike) of Clinton, Bentley McEntire (Janette) of South Weber, Yolanda Horspool (Rick) of Roy, Rowena Allred.(Russell) of Grantsville and Tracy McEntire of Cathlamet, WA; 20 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Jared, Merlin, Jim, Richard, Evan and Ron; and his sisters: Suzanne, Marcia, Brenda and Carolyn. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bloomington LDS 5 ^th Ward Chapel, 200 West Brigham Road, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, at 9:30 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
