St. George, UT - M. Jay Slade passed away October 24, 2009. He was born April 25, 1945 and adopted at 1 month old by Victor A. and Fay Brady Slade. He married Sandra Bramble June 1964 in Salt Lake City. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Granite High School, College of Eastern Utah and then University of Utah. He played football for Granite High School and college. Jay graduated form ITT Electronic with a AS Degree. He worked for 34 years for Utah Power and Light. He retired in 2000. Jay owned many different businesses. Jay and Sandra traveled extensively in the U.S. and some outside the country. They raised 5 daughters and have 11 grandchildren. Jay lived a full life. He was a High Priest in the church. Jay had many hobbies, loved his grandchildren and seemed at great peace with life. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.
