Enterprise, Utah - Our wonderful mother Mary Tait Banks passed away January 15th, 2010 in St. George, Utah surrounded by her family. She was born in Enterprise, Utah July 3, 1926 to George Huntsman and Laura Staheli Tait. She married Sidney Robert (Bob) Banks, May 25, 1945 in San Diego, California. Their marriage was solemnized in the St. George Temple on May 1, l948. Mary was a lifelong resident of Enterprise, Utah. She had a happy childhood and loved her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends, and spoke of them often. She enjoyed reading good books all her life. Her hobbies included quilting, arts and crafts, and her family benefitted from her beautiful work. She was a member of the LDS Church, serving faithfully wherever she was called. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She and dad raised 9 children; Larry (Teresa) Banks, Santa Clara, UT, Darleen (Bob) Jones Riverdale, UT, Sidney (Gail) Banks Roy, UT, Kendall (Marilyn) Banks, Enterprise, UT, Jon (Raean) Banks, Enterprise, UT, Sheldon (Elaine) Banks, Enterprise, UT, Dennis (Leslie) Banks, Washington, UT, Shanna Anderson, LaVerkin, UT, and Robert (Karen) Banks, Delta, UT. She has 51 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild. She is survived by her sisters, Laprele T. Banks, Barbara T. Murray and one brother, Ferrol (Connie) Tait; Sister-in-laws Verda Tait Spendlove, and Shannon (Dean) Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Melvin Tait, Glendon Tait, and sister, Ada Twitchell. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that you make a donation to the LDS Humanitarian Fund. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Enterprise LDS Stake Center, 50 South Center St., Enterprise, Utah. Visitations will be held Tuesday, January 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah and on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center, prior to services. Interment will be at the Enterprise City Cemetery.
