Mary Jane Clove Rondo slipped away to the other side surrounded by family at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Beehive Center in St. George, Utah. She was born June 4, 1924 in St. George, Utah to parents Ivor Clove and Dora Holt Clove. She married Joseph William Rondo on June 7, 1958. Mary served three full time church foreign missions with her husband. She served in many church callings: Ward Relief Society and Stake Relief Society President for several years. She was MIA President and teacher, and served in various other positions. She dearly loved people so much- she gave unconditional love to everyone. Caring for her family was the center of her life. She loved being with the family at the beach and enjoyed hiking and camping among natures beauty, especially with her family. Mary loved music, playing the clarinet in the Enterprise Band and the piano daily at her home. She is survived by her husband Joseph, a daughter Paula (John) McElhinney, two sons: Burton Rondo and Allan (Shannon) Rondo; one younger sister, Marie Sorensen; 8 grandchildern: Derek Connor, Burton Rondo Jr., Lance, Ryan, Cameron, Leah, Chase and Karch Rondo; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brother and two sisters, Francis, Grant, Rema, George, Dennis, and Newell. The family wishes to thank DeLane Anderson for visiting and being so loving and caring, and a special friend to Mary for seven years. We also wish to thank Kathleen & Amy of Beehive Homes, Gina and Caryle of Apple Gate for their loving care, and the Sunset LDS 6th Ward family for all their support over the years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary, prior to services. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
