Obituary

St. George, Utah – Mary Jeane Graham Taylor, 89, passed away May 28, 2022, after a long battle with two brain injuries that left her without her memory. She was born in Ben, Marion Country, Indiana, on December 17, 1932. She was the third girl born to Gardner and Ruby Graham.

Mary attended schools in Indianapolis and in Hope, Indiana. After she graduated from high school, she worked in Indianapolis and in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1955, she moved to San Pedro, California to again live with her parents.

On October 30, 1956, she met a sailor, Don Taylor, at church. They had one date and he went to sea for one month on an aircraft carrier. His ship returned to Long Beach on December 5, 1956. They were married on December 21, 1956. Mary brought four children into their family. The children were all born in San Diego, California. Her second child was stillborn at very near full term.

Mary worked in the payroll office at the 32 nd Street Naval Station and in the San Diego Gas and Electric Company's IBM key punch operation. After moving to Bountiful, Utah she worked for Zion's Bank at their Bountiful Branch. When she retired, she had been the branch president's secretary for several years.

Mary was a very talented and a very artistic lady. She was self-taught on the computer. Her hobbies included genealogy, quilting, ceramics, crocheting, Brazilian embroidery, and she was a fabulous cook. As a teenager, she had learned to cook on a wood burning stove.

Mary is survived by her husband of 65 years, Don Taylor; her two daughters: Kay Taylor-Biggs, Mary Lynne Comparato; her son, Dan Hayden Taylor; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She will be interred in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
