Enterprise, UT - Mary June Harkness Jones, 84, passed away October 20, 2014 in Eagle Mountain, UT. She was born June 16, 1930 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Festus Russell and Sarah Mavera Shore Harkness. She married Donald Theone Jones (deceased) May 20, 1948 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were blessed with eight children: Judith Ann (Paul Tinker), Salt Lake City, UT, deceased, Arthur Theone (Mary Jeanette Thompson) Moses Lake, WA, Patrick Harkness (Lanore Smuin) Monteview, ID, Susan Leigh (Kirk Romney) Eagle Mountain, UT, Isaac Lloyd, Enterprise, UT, Donna Marie (Brian McCann) Boring, OR, Rebecca June, Brewster, NY, and Edna Lou (Lonnie Zeller) McCleary, WA, 34 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren so far! June grew up with three siblings, Sarah Audrey Hopkins (Ray), deceased, Eugene Russell (Pauline) deceased, and John Nephi (Janice). Her family grew potatoes and various other crops for sale. They were living in Pingree, Idaho when June met Don, her algebra teacher. After Don returned from the military, they were married in the LDS temple in Idaho Falls, ID; lived in Provo, UT, Bartlesville, OK, Idaho Falls, Basalt, Terreton, and Hamer, ID, Wells, NV, Enterprise and Eagle Mountain, UT. June is the best of moms and grandmothers, bus driver, and insurance secretary. In her later years she enjoyed working for a Beehive Care Facility. She was an excellent seamstress and taught piano lessons to most of her eight children, the lucky ones at least! She was the best source for gardening and could grow anything. All kinds of handiwork kept her busy, especially knitting baby afghans for all of the great-grandchildren as they were born. Her greatest pride and joy are her children and grandchildren! She planned for the family reunions each year all year long! She will be sorely missed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Enterprise 5th Ward Chapel, 620 Main Street, Enterprise, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday prior to services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Interment will be at the Enterprise Cemetery.
