Enterprise, Utah - Mary Thomas Hunt, age 80, passed away peacefully June 29, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Enterprise, Utah. She was born July 22, 1931 in Enterprise to Nelson and Gwen Alger Thomas. She married her sweetheart, John Reed Hunt February 7, 1948 in Enterprise and the marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. Other than a few years early in their marriage living in Modena, Utah, Mary spent her life in Enterprise. Flower gardens, birds and nature made her happiest, but the trips to Montana each June, reading a good book, cooking and baking for her family and anyone who was hungry or in need, attending Home Evening at the Randall Home, and making Rice Krispies for the kids brought her great joy. Family was her priority, even when working for years side by side with her husband at Lund's General Merchandise, their family owned store. She taught her children to work hard, keep things neat and clean, greet the public pleasantly and be honest in their dealings. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served faithfully in many callings, but dear to her heart was Uvada Stake Primary President, Enterprise First Ward Relief Society President, and devoted leader in the Scouting Program. She was an original member of the Enterprise Funeral Lunch Committee and served on that committee until recently. She also loved being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: Douglas Reed (Janet) Hunt of Central Valley, Utah, Steven Arthur (Randi Lee) Hunt of Santa Clara, Utah, MaRee (Blane) Farnsworth of Enterprise, Utah and Raynel J. (Shelley) Hunt of Battle Ground, Washington; 25 grandchildren; and 51 great- grandchildren, with two more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son, Russell Dean Hunt.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Enterprise LDS Stake Center, 80 South Center Street, Enterprise, Utah. Visitations will be held Thursday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, prior to services, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Enterprise Stake Center Relief Society Room.
