Las Vegas, Nevada / Toquerville, Utah - Mary Alice Hunter passed away on June 17, 2013, in Las Vegas, NV. Born in Toquerville, Utah on October 20th, 1921 to M. William Bringhurst and Lillian Dalton. She was born at home and is a 4th generation descendant of the original Toquerville pioneers. She was named after her two grandmothers, Mary Janette Stapley Bringhurst and Alice Langston Dalton. After graduating from beauty school in Odgen, Utah, she soon moved to Long Beach, CA, where she met and married Antone L. Aguiar in 1942. Following World War II, they relocated to Las Vegas, NV, where the family grew to include Tony, Kelly and Darlene. Antone passed away in 1948 and the following year she met and married George E. Hunter and together they added two more children, Sherrie and George, Jr. After raising their family, they returned to live full-time in Toquerville in 1966. She was always active in the community and served on the town board and was a party delegate to the state political conventions. She has been active in her church responsibilities and has served as Relief Society President and for many years as a worker in the St. George Temple. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ivan, her sisters, Norma, Orlene, Doris, and La Rae, her husbands, Antone L. Aguiar and George E. Hunter, and her three sons, Tony, Kelly, and George. She is survived by her children, Sherrie Thomas (Keith) and Darlene Aguiar, daughter-in-law Susan Aguiar, and her extended family, Valda Hunter, Richard A. Hunter, and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel at 63 N. Toquerville Blvd., Toquerville, UT 84774. Burial to follow at the Toquerville Cemetery. In lieu of !owers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humanitarian Services program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
