St. George, Utah – Mary Edna Mace, 95, passed away April 29, 2022, in St. George, Utah. She was loved by many, especially all the Ladies of the Elks. She was an active Lady of the Elks for many years and on many committees that served the community in St. George.

Mary was born September 6, 1926, to Lee Cook and Ivy Sperling in Holtville, California. She married Wylie Pierson in East Los Angeles, California. They had two sons, Lloyd and Daniel.

Mary worked as a Greeting Card sales lady to the retail stores and also work at Union Pacific Railroad. She later divorced.

Mary married Martel Mace on January 23, 1985, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved to St. George, Utah after they retired.

Mary is survived by her son, Lloyd (Carmina) Pierson; sister, Helen Filer; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martel; brothers: Dell Cook and Lee Cook; and son, Danny Pierson.

We want to thank her close friend, Christa Barker for lovingly watching over her and to all her needs. Thanks also for the Hospice Staff Nurse, Toni and her two special CNAs that cared for her, Heather and Kaylean at the Meadows Assisted Living.
