Salt Lake City, UT - Mary Holmes Mendenhall left this earthly life on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 in Salt Lake City. She married George William Mendenhall and is survived by her children: Douglas William and Janet, Russell Kay, Kathleen and Joe Plessl, Marie and Scott Barton, Dale Warner and Tammy. Her grandchildren are: Alicia, Michelle, Shaun (Erin), Justin, Sally, Lisa (Kyle), Emily, Anne Marie, Tanner, Andrew, Brandan, Cameron, Jayden and Benjamin. Her great-grandchildren are: Cassidy, Charles, Jonathan, Quinn and "Baby" Hargrave. She was greeted by her eternal companion, her parents William and Alice Barber Holmes, her siblings Wendell and Shelley and is survived by her sister, Tecla Rees. She served in the Women's Army Corps during WWII; she was active in the LDS Church and spent countless hours working with the extraction program. Mary was loved immensely by many people and in turn loved many people. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Washington City Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held per Marys wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the missionary fund of the LDS Church.
