St. George, Utah - Mary Beth Orvin passed away November 3, 2011. She was born November 4, 1928 in Provo, Utah . Daughter of D. Henry Jones and Anna LaVern Duncan. She married Harry Stephen Orvin, her high school sweetheart, October 13, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many capacities as Relief Society President, Young Womans President, Secretary in all Organizations, Den Leader, Liberian, Stake and Ward Extraction Coordinator and other callings. She served with her husband in the England Bristol Mission and the Manila Philippines Mission, also as Stake missionaries and temple workers.

Mary is survived by her husband, Harry Stephen Orvin, St.George; one son, Russell Jay Orvin, St. George; two daughters, Claudia Hansen-Johnson, St. George and Marsha Kimberlin, Snowflake, Arizona; a brother, Jack D. Jones, Orem; 22 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Floyd Jones; and three sisters, Helen Hull, Elva Stuart and Olive Gillespie Haueter.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Dixie Hospice Care and the special care given by Pauline, Cindy, Dr. Hagen, Dr. Steve Pennman and Dr. Scott Smith.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Morningside LDS Stake Center, 900 South River Road, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Monday, prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center.
