Hurricane, UT - Mary Jane Snedeker our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend passed away at age 91 on October 9, 2010. She was born to Louise Corl and Charles A. White, Sr. in Marysville, PA. At the age of thirteen, she lost her father to a serious illness and helped her mother raise her three younger brothers on a diary farm in Snedekerville, PA. She married John E. Snedeker, Jr. on June 8, 1940 in Troy, PA. Johnnie was the love of her life; they were married 64 years when he passed away in 2004. She loved her family and did not fail to send a card to each one (even those she adopted into her family) on every birthday and anniversary. Music was her joy in life. She sang in the school operettas, church choirs, community singing groups and was an accomplished organist, playing for over 50 years at her churches in Trumansburg, NY, Bonita Springs, FL and Hurricane, UT. She loved her flower gardens; she was a member of the Bonita Springs Garden Club; going camping with her family (even at 89), playing cards, traveling, reading and cross word puzzles. We will miss her dearly; her memory is the glue that will keep our family together. She is survived by Cheryl (Joe) Borden of Hurricane, UT; Robert (Cheryl) of Trumansburg, NY; Terrence (Stephanie) of Dryden, NY and Patti (Jorg) Midgley of Ithaca, NY; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, her eldest daughter, Mary Louise, her parents and her three brothers, Jim, Charles and Dick. A memorial service is planned for 10:00 a.m. on October 30, 2010 at St. Pauls Catholic Hall in Hurricane, Utah. A second service to held in NY/PA is being planned for a later date.
