IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Carmen
Wallace
July 15, 1934 – September 29, 2025
St. George, Utah – Mary Carmen Armendariz Wallace was born July 15, 1934, in Los Angeles, California. Mary was one of seven children born to Vincente Armendariz and Marcelina Jane Garcia. Her brothers, Samual, Vincent and Leonard, and her two sisters, Tillie and Evelyn, preceded her in death. Her brother, Richard Armendariz survives.
Mary grew up in Watts, California. She later lived in South Gate and Monterey Park, California. Upon graduation, she worked as a secretary for a couple of years, then entered college in the late 60's to pursue a degree in Education. Equipped with a Master's Degree in Education, Mary began her 20-year teaching career. Mary resided in San Gabriel, California from 1968 – 1994.
In 1994, Mary moved to St. George where she continued her teaching of children. This time, however, her efforts were for her Catholic faith community. Mary also taught English as a Second Language. She served the needs of the homebound and those who were ill, through visits, prayer and the Eucharist.
In what spare time she had, Mary enjoyed sewing and taking long walks.
Kindness was a gift Mary exhibited by always thinking of others first. Mary was very self-reliant; she did not want to be a burden to others. She continues to be loved and will be greatly missed.
