St. George, UT - Maudie passed away January 1, 2013, age 95, at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah. At her bedside were sisters Ferril and Irene, and niece Cheryl Lay. Maudie was born March 31, 1917 at Washington, Utah to Hyrum and Susan Prince Prisbrey. She was the fifth child of twelve children. She married Thomas Graves on November 14, 1943 in Little Rock, Arkansas

From an early age she loved planting flowers and vegetables to watch them grow and loved sharing with neighbors and friends. She loved taking flowers to church each Sunday for the enjoyment of others. Maudie worked at the Heritage Park Museum in Hurricane until she was 84, keeping the grounds neat with so much color of every hue. Her most loved flower was the rose. She was called the "Flower Lady" in Hurricane. Her greatest love was being surrounded by beautiful flowers. At her home in Spring Gardens she had to have flower arrangements in her apartment. She loved painting pictures excelling in landscapes, flowers and horses.

Maudie was so proud to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Maudie worked at many jobs during her life time to keep her children together. They were her pride and joy and she spoke many times of her children and grandchildrens accomplishments.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Turkovic and son, John P. Graves; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Rex P. Prisbrey, Ferril Dotson and Irene Slack.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff and friends at Spring Gardens where Maudie resided the past six months and to the doctors and nurses who treated her with care at Dixie Regional.

Maudie, God will be your guiding light now. May we all follow in your footsteps until we meet again.
