Obituary

Page, Arizona – Maureen Callister Green, 94, passed away May 28, 2016 in Page, Arizona. She was born April 16, 1922 in Grantsville, Utah to Willard "Bill" and Hazel Callister, the eldest of seven children. She married Vern A. Green on March 15, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Maureen was raised in Grantsville and spent a short time in Salt Lake City where she graduated high school. She worked at Tooele Army Depot until her marriage. In 1956, Vern and Maureen moved to Mesquite, Nevada where they raised their five children. In 1985, they moved back to Grantsville until 1995 when they moved to Page, Arizona.
Maureen was an active member of the LDS Church. She served in the Relief Society, as Primary Teacher and was a Visiting Teacher all her life until a couple of years before her passing.
She loved to embroider. She gave each of her children and grandchildren a set of pillows that she made. She was an avid reader until she lost her eye sight. She loved to walk two-three miles every morning before the sun was even up.
Maureen loved to watch the TV series Matlock. She had watched and re-watched every episode. Even after she lost her eyesight and hearing she could still tell you what was going on.
She is survived by her children: Charlene (Doug) Heiden of Bunkerville, Bill Green of Las Vegas, Ken (Judy) Green of Mesquite and Becky (Michael) Jensen of Page; daughters-in-law: Nita Green of Las Vegas and Abbe Green of Mesquite; 9 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Joyce (Jerry) Edwards of Grantsville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vern; son Andrew 'Andy" Green; son-in-law, Don Hughes; three brothers: Glade, Glen and Rex; and two sisters: Evelyn and Hazel.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. the Mesquite City Cemetery, Mesquite, Nevada.
