– Melvin Preston Hiatt, 88, passed away January 4, 2018. He was born March 7, 1929 in Smithfield, Utah to Moore P. and Wanda Pitcher Hiatt. He married Donna Mackie on August 11, 1946. They had three children: Linda, Lee and Tom.
Melvin spent the last seven years with his dear companion, Aiko Morishita. They spent many hours together laughing and enjoying each other's company. Aiko and her two daughters, Ray and June are a fun and loving addition to Melvin's family.
He is survived by his children: Linda Stout, Lee (Kathy) Hiatt and Tom (Carma) Hiatt; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; sister, Eleanor Leavitt; brothers: Boyd and Donald Hiatt; and grandson, Cory Hiatt.
Graveside services will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Enterprise Cemetery, Enterprise, Utah. A visitation will be held Monday, prior to the graveside, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Enterprise LDS chapel located at 80 South Center Street.
