St. George, UT - Metta Tweedie, 91, passed away May 5, 2012, in St. George, UT. She was born April 9, 1921 in St. George, to Ether Wood and Augusta Carter Wood and was married in the St. George LDS Temple to Wilden Tweedie on October 30, 1940. With Wilden, she served a Mission for the Church in Alaska, from July 1980 to Dec. 13, 198l, and they were Temple Ordinance Workers in the St. George Temple from 1983 to 2000. She is survived by her son, Jeff Tweedie of Clovis, CA; daughters: Shannon Hall of Los Lunas, NM, Rosemary White of Lincoln, CA, and April Wheeler of Clarksville, TN. She is also survived by her sister, Rosamond Ramstrom; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren (and one on the way!); and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Red Cliffs LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 1155 North 1400 West, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel prior to services. Interment will be at the Hurricane City Cemetery.
