Metta Roween Whipple Nielsen, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully at home in Omaha, NE on August 7, 2015. Metta and Von retired to St. George in 1994 from the San Francisco Bay Area. Von built Metta her dream house in town, at 630 S. 200 E. The house is now an assisted living facility. Metta was heavily involved in the area Parkinson's disease support group. She also served joyfully in church callings in her ward and at the temple. Metta and Von moved to Omaha, NE in 2004 to receive care from family. Metta is preceded in death by her husband, Von, and two grandsons; Brady and Corey Nielsen. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. George City Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday prior to services at 9:00 a.m., at Metcalf Mortuary.
