Obituary

Springville, Utah Michael Dean Cox, age 71, graduated life on Thanksgiving Day November 22, 2018 in Springville, Utah.  He was born February 12, 1947 to Elmer and Pauline Schmutz Cox in Cedar City, Utah. He married Winona Louise Lehman on February 23, 1972 in West Covina, California and they were later sealed on February 24, 1973 in the St George Temple, St George, Utah.

Michael is survived by his wife, Nonie; his six children: Kimberly (Kevin) Kessler, David (Rene) Lowery, Wendy (David) Oberst, Amanda (Stephen) Martin, Bethany (Dan) Andrews, and Jeremiah (Chad) Cox; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Cox; sister, Lanoma Garcia; brother, Donald Cox; and sister-in-law, Linda Cox.

Michael was a consummate teacher his entire life, his major passions were enriching his family and living the gospel of Jesus Christ. He also liked gardening, crafting, camping, anything tie-died, puzzles and playing his guitar. His life of humility and faith will not go unappreciated by heaven or his family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George. Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in Tonaquint Cemetery, St. George, Utah.
