Obituary

Washington, Utah - He lived a simple life and loved his family. Our funny, gentle son and brother Michael Frehner Larkin passed away suddenly from a severe flu, complicated by his life-long bout with Addison's Disease, on January 30, 2022, at his home in Washington, Utah.

Born September 2, 1977, Mike was a tow-headed boy who loved to ride his bike and play with Legos. As he grew up, he discovered video games. To his gaming friends, he was known as "Kadiin" or "Llamatron", and he usually chose to be a Paladin, a front-line warrior. As one of his friends said, "A Paladin is the first to the problem and adds support to those around him with his limited magic abilities, just like Mike in real life."

He didn't need to be the center of attention, but you wanted to be listening when he talked, because Mike was the king of a clever comeback! He enjoyed the tender loving care of his parents and siblings when they fussed over him, and he was equally as concerned about them, wanting all to be home safe each night. He was a homebody who needed few material possessions to be happy.

Most recently, Mike was working as a daytime security guard during the remodel of the St. George Temple.

Michael is survived by his parents, Derrill Cole and Lana Kay Frehner Larkin; siblings: Loni Spendlove (Cody), Mindi Albrecht (Colt), Ryan Derrill Larkin (Alison) and younger sister Megan Marchant (Neal); along with 19 nieces and nephews who adored him.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Washington City Cemetery, 300 Park View Drive, Washington, Utah.
