St. George, Utah - Mildred Glenn Ferdinando passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16th surrounded by family. She is now happy in the arms of her faithful and loving husband, Herman, who preceded her in death last year. Mildred, or Mili as she was known, was born on June 1, 1921 to Frank and Edna Glenn and, shortly after graduating from Durango High School, moved to Salinas, California.
Mili was a progressive strong woman who had a great faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a charter member of The Shephard of the Hills Methodist Church in St. George. She worked as a legal secretary, health food store owner, and real estate entrepreneur. She was a great artist.
She married Herman Ferdinando in 1946 and raised three sons on a ranch outside of Salinas, California.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her sons Barry (Beronica), Daniel, and Vance; three grandsons; and one granddaughter. Mili will be remembered for her strength, intelligence, and ability to handle everything life threw at her ,good and bad, with perseverance and dignity.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Friday ,prior to services, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mortuary. Interment will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-4221.
