St. George, UT - Mildred Brunker Larkin was born on the 23rd of September, 1914, in Willard, Utah, to Leslie Cook Brunker and Mae Augusta Olson as the 2nd child. She passed away gently on the 20th of November, 2009, at home in St. George, Utah. Mildred lost her beloved husband, Conrad Joseph Larkin, in a plane accident October 28, 1948, with his brother when she was carrying her 5th son. She lost a daughter, Ruth, earlier. She valiantly raised her five boys and proudest moment was when all her sons and daughter-in-laws were in the temple together with her. Mildred served in the St. George Temple as secretary for five Temple Presidents. Everyone had only praise for her wonderful work and she had the chance to work with many general authorities and LDS Church Presidents. That was a marvelous time in her life. Mildred and her sister, Berenece Darley, served a mission together in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after her retirement. They were known as the Sister Sister Missionaries. This proved to be another special time in her life. In September, Mildred celebrated her 95th birthday with a fun birthday celebration with over 100 people attending. She was able to greet so many old friends and family members and loved that event. She leaves a large posterity of five sons, Donald Joseph (Shirley), Richard Brunker (Lida), Stephen Max (Dorothy), Roger Allen (Gloria), and James Conrad (Sharron). She also leaves behind 41 grandchildren and 109 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
