Miqueas "Mickey"
Giron
August 1, 1927 – December 2, 2017
La Verkin, Utah - Our Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather, Miqueas "Mickey" Giron, passed away peacefully at home on December 2, 2017. Miqueas was born August 1927 in Vallecitos, New Mexico to Jose and Rosana Giron. He was the second born of 4 children. In December of 1949 he married Fabiola Jaramillo and they had 6 children. Miqueas proudly served in the US Navy and was a WWII Veteran. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Kennecott Copper, where he retired after 34 years of service. He was a faithful man, and a devout member of the Catholic Church. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.
In his youth, Miqueas won the 1946 New Mexico State Basketball Championship. As a lover of sports he especially enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz play. He enjoyed being active- working out with weights, walking, riding bike and horseback riding. Miqueas was an excellent dancer and the life of the party. He was very meticulous with his appearance. He had an impressive collection of dress suits and always kept a little black comb in his pocket. As a Jack-of-all trades, he enjoyed fixing things himself. He was a very giving man and would give the shirt off of his back to a person in need.
Miqueas is survived by his children; JoAn, Micheal, Dolores, Julie, Gina; Grandchildren: Jennifer, Michelle, Stefanie, Jared, Tiffany, Melanie, Nicole, Kristofer and Jesus and 14 Great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Fabiola, son, Anthony, his brother and two sisters.
