He was a member of the LDS church and was a Life Scout. He graduated high school in 2013. Mitch had a love for body building. He enjoyed running and he ran in the St. George Marathon in 2010. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting with his dad. He showed an incredible amount of courage and determination during difficult times.

Mitch is survived by his parents, Bob and Brooke Ballard; brother, Jake; and his best little buddy, Griffy; grandparents, Jimmy and Carolyn Ballard, Phyllis Matson, Craig and Karen Anderson; as well as many aunts, uncles & cousins. He was preceded in death by his aunt Melonie Bastian-Anderson and his grandmother, Marlene Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Coyote Springs LDS Ward Chapel, 1905 East Rustic Drive, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Friday at the Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., prior to services.
