- Muriel Jensen Cox passed away July 7, 2016 at the impressive age of 99. She was born June 10, 1917 to Joseph and Harriet Whiting Jensen. She was the second youngest of nine children. She went to Springville High School and was elected Vice President of the ninth grade. She was a beautiful dancer, piano and organ player.
Muriel married Wilford "Bill" Cox. They had four children: Carol Anne (Verl) Farnsworth of St. George, UT, Jack (Patricia) Cox of Sacramento, CA, Edward "Ted" (Gloria) Cox of Springville, UT and George (Joyce) Cox of Richfield, UT; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Muriel went through the Manti Temple on April 15, 1988 and was sealed to her husband, Bill.
Muriel had four brothers: Ermal, Fay, Russell and Fred Jensen; and four sisters: Clara Arnett, Marie Whiting, Nelda Carlson and Fern Butler.
She is survived by her children: Carol Anne, Jack (Pat), Gloria Cox, George (Joyce); and sister, Fern Butler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son, Ted; son-in-law, Verl Farnsworth; father and mother; seven siblings; and four grandchildren.
She especially wanted to thank her granddaughter, Cindy for the wonderful care of her for the last ten years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork, Utah. Visitations will be held at Walker Mortuary Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, prior to service, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Springville, Utah.
