Boulder City, NV - Naveda Veda Durfey, recently of Boulder City, Nevada died on June 24, 2010. She is survived by her son Monte Morris (Madeline) of Boulder City. Her second son, Eldon Clark Morris (Susan) of St. George preceded her in death. Veda was born November 11, 1914 in Payson, Utah to Herman A. Mary Eliza Twede. She was one of 12 siblings, all of whom are deceased, except her sister, Arlena DeHeer of Orem, Utah. Vedas first marriage to Eldon J. Morris ended in divorce. Subsequently she married Lamar E. Durfey in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After Mr. Durfeys death in 1986, Veda moved to St. George. There she lived until 2007. She then moved to Boulder City. Her church service was mostly in the LDS Relief Society, whose motto is Charity Never Faileth . Wherever she lived, there are many who can attest to her adherence to this motto. She leaves a posterity of 15 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Mortuary, prior to services. Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery.
