St. George, Utah - Husband, father, and dear friend to so many, passed away on February 25, 2020. Nels was born on November 23, 1938 in Urie, Wyoming to Dr. Amber C Davidson and Sylvia Jane (Kilbourn) Davidson. He was one of ten children.
Nels was raised in Lyman, Wyoming where he went to high school, enjoying sports, and serving as class president. After high school he served in the Army Reserves and served in the Northern California Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
On December 22, 1961 Nels married Carole Flygare, the love of his life, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They had five boys: Nels Christian Davidson, Daniel Ralph Davidson, Cameron Lee Davidson, Carson Lee Davidson, and Nathan Andrew Davidson. Over the years they would enjoy vacations, camping, fishing, hunting, motocross, and more…
Nels worked in many different occupations and owned several of his own businesses.
In addition to serving a mission, Nels served in many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Bishop of the West Jordan 10th Ward.
Nels loved to spend time with family and friends, rock hunting, gardening, reading, and was known for his story telling.
Nels is survived by his wife, Carole Flygare Davidson; four sons: Nels Christian (Barbara), Daniel Ralph (Gaylene), Cameron Lee (Julie), Carson Lee (Valerie deceased); four sisters: Pat Riggs, Sharol Thompson, Jean Gaylord, Elaine Burleson; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Nathan Andrew Davidson; his parents, Dr. Amber C Davidson and Sylvia Jane (Kilbourn) Davidson; brothers: Amber Charles Davidson, Edwin Joseph Davidson; and sisters: Virginia Joyce Davidson, Florence Maevonne Reese, and Carol Louise Barnes.
A viewing will be held in St. George, Utah on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the LDS Chapel located at 3519 Manzanita Road.
Funeral Services will be held in South Jordan, Utah on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing prior from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, located at 1007 West South Jordan Parkway. Interment will be at South Jordan Cemetery.
