Obituary

St. George, UT Nina Mary Clegg, 88, passed away December 14, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 2, 1929 in Woodward, Oklahoma. She was the fourth child born to Elmer and Fern Tackett.  She married Don W. Clegg on May 1, 1949 in Los Angeles, California.

Nina graduated from Fremont High School in Los Angeles, California. While in high school she met Don Clegg on a blind date, and after dating for two years, they were married on May 1, 1949. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Three children were welcomed into the family along with eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served faithfully in many ward and stake positions. Nina enjoyed everything the world had to offer, and lived life to the fullest. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Nina moved from Torrance, California to Hurricane, Utah, where she lived for 35 years until she moved to St. George three years ago to be closer to family. She maintained a sense of humor even as her physical health deteriorated and she was unable to do the things she loved. She never complained through these trials. She was an example of enduring to the end. Nina and Don have been inseparable and have spent the last 68 years creating a legacy of love. They enjoyed a lifetime together and supported one another through the trials of life.

Nina is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Fern Tackett; sister, Coralee Lewey; and two brothers: Charles and Junior Tackett. She is survived by her husband, Don Clegg; children: Vicki (Mike) Tyler, Kim Casdorph and Eric (Elissa) Clegg; grandchildren: Karen, Chris, Kayla, Karisa, Kelby, Stephanie, Palmer and Melia; and eleven great-grandchildren.
