Nina Posey, 63, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 31, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a devoted family and a legacy of kindness and giving.

Nina was born on August 21,1960 to RL and Patty Dailey Posey in Albuquerque, NM. She was the youngest of six children who hovered over her and teased her mercilessly. She graduated from Manzano High School and New Mexico State University. After a lengthy accounting career, she entered a new phase of her life, caring for her parents.

Nina personified the spirit of giving with her time, talents, and financial resources. She had an immense compassion for babies and volunteered her time at the hospital rocking newborn babies born into drug abuse. She also fostered dogs until they were placed in a permanent home.

Nina played softball throughout her life (attending NMSU on a softball scholarship) and mentored and coached countless teenagers in the game.

After living and working in Chandler, AZ for 30 years she relocated to St George, Utah to be with family.

Nina was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her siblings: Gayle (Buster) Hampton, Mark (Nancy) Posey, Dean (Diana) Posey, Catherine (Alan) Hendrickson, Russell (Michelle) Posey; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as special friends: Jackie, Gracie and Drew.

The family extends sincere gratitude and appreciation to Emily, Blaine, Cayden and Kayla for their love and care over the past two years.

The family will gather in Mayhill, NM at a future date to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be given in Nina's memory to the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL.org) of Chandler.
