Obituary

St .George, UT - Noel Duane (Beak) Taylor, age 74, passed away on August 10, 2010 at his home in St. George, Utah. He was born on December 21, 1935 in Magna, Utah to Archibald and Ruby Gillette Taylor. Noel met and married the love of his life, Winifred Young McPhee in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 21, 1962 and together they raised 5 children. He was a proud, devoted father and husband. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren who were the light of his life. Noel was blessed with an incredible singing voice and a love of music. From barbershop quartets to church choirs, you could always hear his big bass voice. Noel had many special gifts and always gave freely of his time to help others. He had a big heart and an even bigger personality and will truly be missed by his family and friends. Noel was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings. He approached his callings with the same passion that he did everything in his life, all out. Noel is survived by his wife, Winifred, children Carolyn McPhee of Jackson, WY, Heather McPhee of Point Roberts, WA, Don (Shelley) Taylor of Washington, UT, Glen (Tonya) Taylor of Lehi, UT and Stacy (Dan) Delcour of Springfield, MO. Grandchildren Ian (Megan) Moore, Sara (Shawn) Robinson, Justin (Annie) Taylor, Kimberlee (Mike) Hardin, MacKenzie (Kody) Smith, Dylan Taylor, Brianna Taylor, Natasha Taylor, Tanicca Taylor, Kiana Taylor. Great grandchildren, Taylor Hardin, Milee Hardin, McKoy Smith, Mataya Smith, Gracie Taylor, Collin Robinson, Carter French, Parker French, Cooper French, Tanner French, Madalyn Moore, Deacon Moore and a sister, Leila Jensen of Sacramento, CA. Noel was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Hod Taylor, Virgil Taylor, Ace Taylor and Dale Taylor. Sisters, Velda Robler, Dorothy Parry, and grandson, Collin Moore. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cotton Manor Ward, 2681 E. 350 N., St. George, UT. Visitations will be held on Friday, August 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., and on Saturday, August 14, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221. Noel was President of the Board of Directors for the Red Rock Center for Independence.
