Obituary

St. George, Utah - Olive Rayola Wankier, 88, passed away April 1, 2013. She was born April 3, 1924 in Moroni, Utah to John Victor and Edna Blanche Draper Cooper. She married Keith Shepherd Wankier on July 21, 1943 in Nephi, Utah. They were sealed on June 29, 1982 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She graduated from Juab High School.

She then moved to California and had three sons: Michael, Gregory and Erric Wankier. Along with raising them, she was a Cub Scout Leader, a Little League Team Mom and sang with their LDS Church Choir. She then went to work for Douglas Aircraft, Co., ending her career there after 20 years as an Executive Secretary. She then moved with her husband, Keith, to St. George and found her next love (work) with Daughters of The Utah Pioneers.

She survived by her sons: Michael (Norma), Gregory (Carol) and Erric (Bobbi) Wankier; grandchildren: Christine, Tami, Mack and Joanna Wankier, Denise Lorragoity and her sons, Dylan, Evan and Jacob (Courtnie); and great-granddaughter, McKenzie. She is also survived by her brother, Gerald (Carol) Cooper; and brother-in-laws: Sherman (Yvonne) Wankier and Alan Ostler.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bloomington Hills LDS 5 th Ward Chapel, 1130 East Brigham Road, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Friday, prior to services, at 9:00 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow services on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Levan, Utah Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
